The job was to replace two large sliding doors with double glazed replacements. When the job was finished the fitters pointed out that there was a two foot crack in the one door glass and they told me that they thought that that we would not want to pay for them, to which I agreed.
However we were then chased for payment later that day and again the following day relatively aggressively.
We then heard very little and we were not at all impressed with the way the company had dealt with this problem.
Finally we did get a visit from a senior manager, Damian, who apologised profusely he and restored our faith in the company.
We have now placed two further orders with the company and are hopeful that the experience will be much better.

From the sales lady that came around to show us samples and take measurements, to admin, time-keeping, communication, workmanship and the product - what a pleasure. Everyone was helpful, keeping us in the loop. The work done done neatly and timeously. They delivered exactly what they advertise.

Really pleased with the finished conservatory, spending lots of time in there already and its still January! Good quality, very professional work from start to finish. 

Initial consultation was full of promise and the salesman worked well with us to realise our vision.
The lead time after the initial base build was far longer than we had been led to believe. We were told initially 2 to 3 weeks the actual wait was 9 weeks. During this time the base was totally soaked with water as a result of being exposed to the elements, water was even rising up the breeze blocks.
After final clean down there were several areas which needed rectifying. An example being the floor membrane was left untrimmed and the use of a sticky filler instead of proper plaster that didn't dry out properly when installing the sills.
The main concern was the floor which had a groove in it ,together with crumbling by the doors. We believe this was due to the length of time the base was left open to the rain and bad weather over the winter months.
We are pleased with the final conservatory but unfortunately disappointed with our overall experience .
It has felt like a protracted build where five Star windows should have been a lot more Pro active paying attention to detail and unprompted communication.

Old window removed cleanly with no damage to surrounding wall and plaster and outside rendering. New window exactly as ordered was inserted and fixed and the whole job was first class. Does the job we ordered it for the room is now much warmer and the frame much easier to look after, no more painting.

We recently had new French windows fitted.
The whole process went about as smoothly as could be hoped, and the job was completed in less than a working day.
The fitter was pleasant and assiduous and very competent, and checked we were satisfied before he left.
The doors themselves are excellent and as described, and a huge improvement on the previous ones.

Contract agreed June 2021 but completion not until January 2022. We can understand some of the delays due to the pandemic.
All the tradesmen were very efficient, friendly and polite and very hard working not stopping for breaks during the day.
We are very pleased with the quality of the conservatory and the locking systems and the new patio door to the lounge.

Overall we are very pleased with our new garden room and with the quality of its materials and installation.  The workmen were polite and punctual, cleaned  up at the end of each day and were always ready to answer our questions.  The office staff at 5 Star kept us well informed of what was happening at times when we encountered glitches, e.g. because of delays arising from staff self-isolating or shortages of materials and they were quick to deal with any issues on which we needed clarification.  Our only complaint was that the first electricians who came did a very poor job, leaving the electrics in an unsafe state.  However, when we reported this to 5 Star they took immediate action: they arranged for another electrician to come out the next day (a Saturday when he did not usually work) and all the necessary remedial work was carried out on the following Monday.  Having previously been badly let down by another local firm we were reluctant to hope for too much but when we contacted 5 Star we felt we were in safe and efficient hands and would be very happy to recommend them.

FIXER CAME ON THE DAY PLANNED AND FITTED THE UNITS AND MADE A GOOD JOB.
HE WAS VERY GOOD AND POLITE, AND CAME TO OUR BUNGALOW EARLIER THAN THE TIME GIVEN. GREAT.

The contract was agreed Feb 2021 and installation completed in January 2022.
There were a few changes to the contract in May for one window which I was advised wouldn't achieved the desired results so that was cancelled from the order. And I upgraded two windows prior to that date.
I was promised multiple installation dates from late May 2021 but it was September 2021 before the installation started. It was meant to take 5 days but due to the hap-hazard approach it didn't complete until January 2022.
In that time I escalated to the MD three times and also used the finance organisational route to represent me as well in the hope of a successful resolution.
Eventually some focus was put on the order and after multiple snag lists were composed I now have the windows and doors installed.
Most of the windows required 'fixing' which I'm told is a manufacturing issue and the back door had to be replaced.

We had a back door and 2 windows fitted. The fitters were very helpful and considerate. The service was wonderful, would strongly recommend!

5 Star recently replaed my large lounge window. The work was carried out carefully and efficiently, with the fittrs taking great care to restore the surrounds perfectly.
