New Doors for old
Two New external Doors fitted to replace two rotten wooden doors.
Both Doors arrived to the style and standard chosen.
Both doors fitted to an excellent standard within the timescale allotted.
All the mess cleaned up and taken away excellent job done John/

Replacement conservatory
For us this was a major project to demolish our existing conservatory and build a replacement. The only reason we have not given a '5' rating was that we were advised at the start that we would have an allocated project manager who would visit us and keep in contact during the 5 week job. This did not occur. We had four or five different tradesmen teams working on the job and they were all excellent. However, there were instances where we thought communication between them and head office could have been better as we had to explain a number of things that we had agreed with the sales team that had not been passed on to the tradesmen. Whilst we were able to communicate to head office via email we felt that we should have been able to talk regularly to the project manager. As to the quality of the workmanship and products, we are very pleased. Small snagging issues were dealt with efficiently and we are delighted with the end result.

New Conservatory Roof
We are very pleased with our new conservatory roof. All the workmen were friendly and polite and the work was completed efficiently. We've given a 4 star review because we thought communication with us from 5Star could have been better.

It takes time
We had x 3 windows fitted plus a new composite door. This should of taken around 2 to 3 days to install.
Initial installation was botched by the fitters which then led to full, satisfied completion in around 1 year. The pandemic did not help, neither did the poor workmanship of the initial fitters.
A good company listens to its customers, accepts its failings and put things right. 5 star did this and after numerous fitters and surveyors the work was completed.
The products are well made and should last as there is a 20 year guarantee.
I would use this company again but would insist on experienced fitters for any future project. A good company is only as good as the people it employs.

1star quality and service
Windows installed on 7th December 2020. The beading was appalling and the glass was scratched severely on 2 of the windows! One window didn’t open without catching! Very disappointed but it just got worse! Complaint made, after numerous emails, to no communication, to having the triple glazed glass in my windows replaced numerous times! Lied to by operations manager, very visible large fingerprints on the middle pane of glass after being told humans are not involved in the process of putting the sealed glass units together! Very miserable engineer (every time he came out) who is used as the person to rectify problems! No care given to customer dissatisfaction, brand new blinds damaged (they did replace them but not the point). The beading on the windows could not be fixed by 5Star or the manufacturer, that’s right 5star do NOT make the frames or the glass, they are manufactured elsewhere and transported, so disregard the sales pitch they make them! The beading now is just about acceptable but not what you expect from brand new 5star windows. It took an uncountable amount of attempts of the beading to be fitted! The kite marks on the glass on all three panes on all windows in different corners! Customer service absolutely horrendous! For this only to have been completed on 4th May 2021, some 5 months later! Oh not to mention the damage to 2 of the 3 frames from the amount of attempts to get the beading to fit, which we were provided with a minimal ‘goodwill’ gesture to compensate! My brand new windows which have been through more in the 5 months they have been in, than any window would ever go through in their normal life time! This is an honest review for others to make an informed decision whether to use 5star! I went to this company from their alleged reputation to be faced with the worse stressful 5 months. There is so much more that can be said with what went on, but this is an accurate summary! The only positive I can say is the triple glazing glass has made a considerable amount of difference to the noise levels!

Good quality, problems dealt with effectively
One window bought to replace a very old window in a bathroom.
Quite a long turnaround, but I understand this is industry standard - 5-6 weeks.
Initial measurements were incorrect, so window did not fit when arrived.
Team remeasured and replaced window within a reasonable time frame. Very happy with the quality and look of the window now fitted, but a shame about the mistake and delay. Luckily didn’t cause too much inconvenience.
All in all, happy with window.

Fitted expertly to schedule.
6 Windows replaced at a reasonable cost. All bar one pane were delivered to schedule and expertly fitted. All the old double-glazed windows - aluminium framed & mahogany hardwood surrounds - removed & taken away, leaving no mess. Pleasant & professional father & son team. The missing pane subsequently delivered as advised & fitted. Very happy experience.

Frame installation was incorrect as the wrong Windows were installed
Project manager failed to inform the customer of the changes to the planning
Delay in clean down after first date was cancelled by the customer
No coordination between contractors on site including failure to attend site meeting
Despite this we are happy with the overall result

We love our new windows
From start to finish we were really impressed with our experience of 5 Star Windows.
The salesman Mike was very knowledgeable and supported us brilliantly in the decision making. No question seemed too silly and he kept in regular contact with us.
Over the three days of installation, the fitters worked extremely hard and were very clean and tidy.

New Conservatory
The end product is excellent, but the build process has been fraught with issues. Poor customer services, and the communication between all the various builders/installers and 5-Star and with us was appalling. There were too many problems and issues coupled with a lack of understanding of the importance of good customer relations.

Great work 5 Star
The end product for all the work that was completed is excellent and we are very happy with all the work that was completed. Clearly the quality and suitability of the products are very important and again we are very pleased with all the windows, doors and paint work. We still, on leaving our house, turn round and admire the splendid end product.
We initially experienced difficulties with locking and unlocking doors and with windows blowing further open overnight but your staff have been first class in making necessary adjustments and explaining to us what we need to do.
The overall completion of the work took more time than originally intended. The weather takes some of the blame but there were some mistakes made when planning the shape of some of the windows. and as a consequence some of the windows needed to be remade. That mistake apart we were delighted with the skills of your work force. When you are spending a lot of time with new people in your home and particularly at a time when the virus is presenting new challenges, the characteristics of your workforce are important. All the staff who passed through were very skillful and they responded very helpfully to our questions and requests. They were excellent in the way they managed their work and their time in someone elses home. You ask about the key elements we like. Hopefully above, we have described many aspects of the work but ultimately it is all about the end product and we both love that.
