This has been one of the most stressful things...

This has been one of the most stressful things that we have ever done, and a nightmare from beginning to end...although its not yet finished! There has been a total lack of communication throughout the conservatory process. Many workmen were untidy and we had to clean up after they had gone. Electrician left his "rubbish" behind, destroyed the polystyrene insulation on our roof hatch (he didn't tell us - we were left to discover this when Ian next went into the loft!) and he put the duct on an angle (looks untidy and unprofessional). There was plaster all over our outside bins (which we had to clean), and I have had to clean up after all of the workmen in one way or another. The tiling man arrived when we were both out at work and had locked the gate and conservatory, as no one had bothered to contact us to inform us he was arriving that day, or even to agree a date convenient for us. When he rang me to "moan" he had a arrived and there was no one here and he couldn't do his job, he wasn't particularly polite or helpful on the phone. There were problems from the start, and a number of errors on installation (e.g. wrong colour door and window handles, no handle on one window (which was also non-opening and which we had agreed would be an opening one on order!), and they broke the kitchen vent when they moved it. Although these were put on a list for the last workman to fix, he came without half of these, claiming he didn't know he had these to do! Three panes of glass in the doors need to be replaced due to scratches and marks inside the glass. No one gave us any information following installation, and we were shocked when we had damp areas on the walls, as no one had explained that this would happen, and what we should do to help the drying out process. We have had to do all of the "chasing" for information and keep on top of what the workmen were doing. Even the conservatory boundary line was put in the wrong place as the original surveyor got this wrong, and we fortunately noticed this and spent an hour on the phone to the so called "building manager"! We had expected the building manager to have visited the project at the beginning and certainly at the end to ensure we were happy with it or discuss any issues, however he only attended when the cavity tray was being installed and the company were talking publicity photographs. We were also not asked for consent or permission for the photos to be taken of our property. We are completely disappointed by the standard of workmanship of some of the workers, complete lack of communication or management of the project, and we wish that we had never ordered our conservatory through Clearview. We would certainly never recommend them.
